Finding Growth in Solitude
Ever want to get away from it all? We long for the peace of the presence of God in our lives...the time to share with Him for our own relief. But is that what a Spiritual Discipline of Solitude is about. I think Paul demonstrates what real Solitude is about...getting away from it all so that we can better love and find unity with our fellow man, meet the real self within us, and find the humility in our walk that leads to freedom.

Corporate Simplicity
We are back to Richard Foster, Celebration of Discipline. This is the final four pieces of this classic. This week, we talk about simplicity in terms of what to buy and what not to buy or how much is too much. But is that really what undergirds Christian simplicity within the church? Instead, maybe we need to take a look again at our search for unity and love brought about by seeking first the Kingdom of God...it's coming and what is already upon us.

John 12: Jesus as the Light of God, as so are we
And so we must be always aware of God's light in all that we do. It is to shine through us, that He is glorified in everything that we as the People of God do.
The Light is Replaced
What happens is we let these things become more deeply ingrained into our focus, and we quickly loose the light altogether.
We Shine Dimly

The Purpose of Jesus: The Glory of God
Why does it feel that we fall so short of glorifying God so often? And our solution always seems like we just need to work harder to please Him! Only after much effort, we learn that we still feel like we are falling shorter, so we work harder. Something is up, but what? What does it mean to turn to Jesus as the perfect example of glorifying God? How must our hearts change if we are to be His vessels? We explore together John 12 for some insight.
